Two Pictures of Friendship
In this sermon, we're challenged to examine the nature of our relationships - both with the world and with God. Drawing from James 4, we're confronted with the stark reality of how our disordered desires can damage our relationships, both horizontally with others and vertically with God. The concept of 'friendship with the world' is presented as a diagnosis for various symptoms in our lives, from conflicts to prayerlessness. But there's hope! We're reminded that God offers greater grace, providing a path to true friendship with Him through humble submission. This message invites us to resist the devil, pursue God wholeheartedly, and cultivate a genuine brokenness over our sin. It's a call to move beyond surface-level faith and into a deeper, more authentic relationship with our Creator.
